25 Litre Plastic Containers

There are many uses for 25 Litre plastic containers. What would you use a container of this size for? Exactly how big is a 25 Litre plastic container? These may not be some of the most important questions in the world, but maybe someone somewhere would like to know this kind of trivia. Here are the answers to these questions, along with some other related trivia, which may one day help you win that general quiz game or pub quiz.

Plastic containers are made out of different types of plastic depending upon their uses. For example, plastic bottles used for drinks are usually made from a type of plastic called PET, which is clear and strong but not very rigid. It can easily be crushed and distorted.  25 Litre plastic containers made from this type of plastic would be a little weak and not sufficient for the weight of the water inside. In the thermoplastics category, there are in fact seven different classifications of plastic for recycling purposes, the codes for which were devised by the SPI (Society of the Plastics Industry) in 1988. These numerical codes, numbered 1 through 7 and surrounded by a triangle of arrows, are normally stamped on the bottom of plastic containers. The codes cover plastics ranging from PET through high density polyethylene, PVC, low density polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene—and others—and indicate how the plastic can be recycled. Other types of plastic are denser and therefore more rigid and are known as thermosetting plastic. They are durable and hard, and cannot change their shape.

Plastic containers come in all sorts of sizes, colors, and shapes, and can be used for all kinds of purposes – from functional to decorative. Plastic boxes, either with or without lids, can be used for storage, or even for display purposes. They can be used for transporting goods, foodstuff, or even small livestock. They are useful because they are strong and resistant to knocks. They can survive being dropped from a reasonable height. They can be sat on or even stood on, within reason. Certain types of supplies can be bought in 25 Litre plastic containers, such as saltwater for reef aquariums.

Containers can be as large or as small as you like. From the smallest ones that contain a fraction of a Litre to large containers of hundreds of Litres, they all have their uses. Containers can be in different forms as well. We have talked about boxes and bottles above, but there are also containers such as barrels, pallet boxes, cylinders, cases, drawer units, bins, trolleys, baskets, and bags.

As an example of size, 25 Litre plastic containers would be around 30x30x30cm in size. Containers of 100 Litres would be around 40x40x60cm. For those who are mathematically minded, there are formulas for working out the volume of rectangular, cylindrical, or round containers which we will not go into here. Finally, although they are very useful and something we cannot imagine living without, more and more people are becoming increasingly worried about the effect that plastic and other artificial products are having on our environment.
